Camko City is something of a landmark development in Phnom Penh, situated at the far northern tip of the Toul Kork district; Camko City has catapulted the development of what was once a small lake into the present day.
Originally approved by the government in 2005, World City Co., Ltd., the developer of CamKo City introduced a global standard of residential, commercial, and business mixed use development in to the Cambodian property market.
The project includes both condominiums and also a gated community of villa properties plus retail outlets to serve the community. With increased residential occupancy has come an increased demand for retail with more and more shops along the Angkor Boulevard, a 30-meter wide road at the center of CamKo City, being occupied by more business owners.
World City Co., Ltd. Has plans to complete their condominium projects in the near future, and pledges to launch new upcoming projects soon.
Making a significant contribution to National Housing Policy is one of the biggest interests of the developer as increased housing demand and lack of affordable housing supply are raising significant social concerns. It is said that, reflecting the demand, a mid-ranged residential complex is already prepared in CamKo City and waiting for the launch.
In the surrounding residential areas of CamKo City such as Sen Sok and Russey Keo, there has been a significant increase in housing development. To the West of CamKo City the second AEON Mall project has been completed as has a new Makro cash and carry. At the North end of CamKo City, a renowned Australian International School Phnom Penh (AISPP) now provides International Standard Education for families in the area. In addition, large numbers of various high-profile residential projects are already underway such as Garden Residency 2.
With all these developments both within CamKo City and the surrounding area and along with Phnom Penh’s expansion it is expected that CamKo City will progress from a pioneering global-standard satellite city and become inter connected with the rest of Phnom Penh.
